Lastly we attended to view the bird bath which has been sited in memory of Dave England. Doreen England poured water in to it on our behalf. Dave was founder member and first chairman of Twinning, without him Twinning wouldn’t be in existence. It was Dave’s suggestion to the local council that we should be twinned with a town in France that set the ball rolling and a public meeting was held, from that meeting the first committee was formed.
